There has actually been a state of war with North Korea since 1953. Only a ceasefire was agreed to.

The agreement provided for:

-A suspension of open hostilities
-A fixed demarcation line with a four kilometre (2.4 mile) buffer zone - the so called demilitarization zone
-A mechanism for the transfer of prisoners of war

Both sides pledged not to "execute any hostile act within, from, or against the demilitarized zone", or enter areas under control of the other.

The agreement also called for the establishment of the Military Armistice Commission (MAC) and other agencies to ensure the truce held.

The MAC, which comprises members from both sides, still meets regularly in the truce village of Panmunjom.

Despite the relative peace since the war 'ended', tensions remain high between the two Koreas, and their border remains the most heavily militarised frontier in the world.

We've been at war with Korea since 1950, a cease fire has been in existence since 1953. The 2nd Infantry Division, along with support from the 7th Fleet and Marine 3rd Division in Japan are at ready alert. Only within the last decade have tactical nukes been taken out of S.Korea, but the availability of SBLM makes that move irrelevant. The question is, when will the cease fire be broken?

No, I guarantee we won't go to war with North Korea unless they attack South Korea. Why? It's not practical. North Korea's army is too large and their forces are too close to South Korea. The city of Seoul would be destroyed within hours of a war beginning. Casualties in any war, including U.S. and South Korean troops and citizens, would be in the tens of thousands at least and probably hundreds of thousands, and no American president is going to face that in this day and age unless he has no other choice. As much as we'd all like to get rid of Kim, there's just no way to accomplish it by war.

No. I suspect that in time North Korea will implode. This could be very dangerous however since their military would lack leadership, and a power vacuum could lead to them shelling South Korea, and launching missiles at Japan. They can't feed their own people, they certainly can't manage a war.

Not at Hawaii but on line to the continental USA flying over Canada, they wanted to show that they had the weapons and a way to deliver at least one if they are attacked again. The only thing they can do really, Saddam proved he had no weapons and was not a threat and now he will be convicted and executed by USA, nuff said

Hmmm that's a reason. Maybe a programmer can go in there and reprogram the missiles to fire back into N. Korea.

Depends on N. Korea. I say no b/c anyone who saw what happend to Saddam Hussein (twice) knows how much of an azz-whuppin' they are in for once the U.S. decides to unleash it.

The leaders of N.Korea are clearly crazy, but I don't think anyone from such a pathetic country is crazy enough to close their eyes, stick out their chin and say, "Take your best shot, hit me as hard as you can."

No , I don't think so 'cause we're not people from other planet ,we are human we can't let that asshole Bush send our troops [our sons] to another war in another country after thier return from the middle east . our country can't enter 3 wars [Iraq , Afghanestan and N.Korea.].We wont this happen . We will do a revolution.
