Why are we at war?Does someone know the real reason?

I need to know the truth. If possabile please tell me why we are still there?

Which war? We are in the Global War on Terrorism because Al Qaeda and other radical Islamists declared war on the US. Radical Islam's reasons for doing so are very complicated, but mostly it comes down to having a totalitarian ideology fundamentally at odds with basic American values. You should realize that the war against radical Islam is as deadly and as serious, with the same high stakes, as the Cold War. Defeating radical Islam will take a long time and will be a bumpy road. But, as with the Cold War, vigilantly defended freedom will win in the end.

We are fighting the the war in Iraq partially because it is a battlefield in the war against terrorism, and partially because Donald Rumsfeld and the coterie of neocons around him believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Hussein funded the intefada in Israel and the occupied territories, and they made the reasonable assumption that he could/would help Al Qaeda and its ilk. They looked for and found evidence to support their cause (ignoring all the counter evidence -- and there was a lot of it) and convinced the President that it was finally time to take down Hussein once and for all.

My own belief on the Iraq war, in the interests of open dialog, is that it is the right war at the wrong time. We should have done it right after Desert Storm or maybe a couple of years later when Hussein still had WMD programs and was bucking the UN. I think it is a bad decision to be in two wars at the same time...particularly in view of Iranian and North Korean nuclear ambitions. However, now that we're in Iraq, we shouldn't leave it until they have a relatively stable government, with reasonably clean governmental institutions, and well-led and well-trained security forces to maintain its national integrity.

Because these radical geniuses at the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) decided that the best way to ensure future American economic dominence was to impose regime change throughout the Middle East. Ensuring oil by taking control of 2 countries (Iraq and Afghanistan) that have vast oil stores which will be built and serviced by the same people that got Bush elected. Its win win for everyone.
