How do you make a joke?

I want to try to make and original joke. Does anyone have any tips to help make one?

I want the joke to be more like a story instead of 2 lines.

Think of words and phrases that could have double meanings.
Example:
Q. What happened to the egg when I told it this joke?
A. It cracked up!!

Hahaha! So you get my point? Sometimes, dumb jokes can be funny too.
Example:
Q. What's red and goes up and down?
A. A tomato in an elevator!

Or witty ones are funny too.
Example:
Q. How do you spell candy with only two letters?
A. C and Y

Just plain funny ones that make a play on words are funny too!
Example:
Q. What kind of teacher never farts in public?
A. A private tooter!

See? It's not that hard. Just remember there are many qualities that make a joke great.

First you find a punchline... then you spun a story away from the punchline, and when you hit it... you will surprise everyone..

But I am not a comedian so I don't know.. hehe
