Coz of fear of being rejected by telling the truth. Most ppl have certain expectation and standard in making friends nowadays.

I think its because we think everyone expects us to be at a certain place, or a certain standard, and no one wants to disobey that because we will get ridiculed and ppl will judge us right away...thats the way i see it...:)
