If the teaching thing doesn't work out, do you think you could get back in the line of work you're doing now? I say you should go for it. Nobody ever got ahead in life without taking risks.

Successful people are the ones who are willing to take risks. So, I advice you to try the teaching internship that was offered to you. You said you love teaching and that the pay is good. So go for it. If you resign from your current job, you might want to find out if you can get some financial benefits from the company based on your length of service.
Good luck!

Obviously, you need to talk this over with your wife. I have a feeling that she will tell you to "go for it". Life is short and it is really difficult to go to a job each day that you don't like. You'll never get rich being a teacher, and most people don't realize how challenging it is to help kids be excited about learning. However,it really is so rewarding when you know that you are helping your students do well. They are our future, and they need teachers who really care! Good luck.

There are no gaurantees whatsoever in life. You could also lose your current job through no fault of your own. You're more likely to be successful in a job you truly love, so if you can find a financially viable way to make the leap, then go for it.

How confident are you that it will work. Do you have others who know you well and will give you an honest answer about their thoughts on your success in this new field?
If you are confident that it will work (and others concur), then at some point you need to go for it.
If it makes you a better person, then that helps your family, right?

I don't believe you're sacrificing your family. One, you have a chance to break out of a dead-end job and make more money. That's good for your family. Two, a happy, mentally healthy parent is much better for their family. I think you might be doing a disservice to your family if you DON'T do it.

Always a chance you can get your job back too if you dont get the teaching job

I say, go for it. Why waste your life away doing something you don't like. You only live once, do what you want. If you don't get a job, you can always work temp jobs until you find one. There are major teacher shortages everywhere, you could always relocate.

Schedule a nail appointment, I'm sure everything will work out for you. Or maybe you should leave this one to the teenagers.
