I have the same issue. I have always been a thin guy. Until recently I couldnt gain an ounce but recently i noticed I was tired in the mornings (especially after workouts). I work out lightly, nothing overboard. I started eating a can of tuna with a bowl of cereal in the morning and have put on about 20 pounds of lean muscle in six months. I attribute the tuna (extremely lean protein) and the timing (I think it agrees with my natural cicadian rythms) to the gain. I believe I wsant getting the right stuff at the right time. Good luck!

It would depend on what type of weight you are trying to gain. If it's just weight because you are too thin- try eating carbs like rice, pasta, etc. about 30 mins before bed. Unless you are exercising like a maniac you should start to gain weight because your body will not have time to burn all the sugars during your sleep. If it is muscle you are trying to gain, then eat lots of lean protiens and continue to exercise adding in a weight training routine.

If you really need to gain weight, eat a lot! Foods high in fat and starch. Eat lots of corn bread and cake and ice cream and doughnuts and cookies and potatoes with butter and sour cream...the only surefire way to gain weight is to eat more and exercise less. Just like the only surefire way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more.
