You can try shampooing it several times in a row to see if that fades the color at all. Even though it is permanent haircolor, it will fade some.
However, if it is still too dark for you, you will have to use a bleaching product on your hair and then apply a new color to get the desired shade. This is a complex 2-step process, and it's best to have it done at a salon.

As a retired Cosmotologist and colorist, you are in trouble, as you well know. The best thing is find a excellent Colorist and he or she can help but it is work with no promises. For example, first one has to removed some of the black coloring and if one know the color wheel, the first color that goes is blue in the base. That leaves a rusty color, which is ugly. Then if possible lighten the red color and then go back with an over all lighter color to blend in. One other way is to highlight the hair using hair bleaching and foil. This can bring the hair color lighter. condition and use a light brown all over to blend and it will great.

Wow. there are distinct solutions on your question which will do you actually no good! As a hair stylist, i have considered (and glued) many complications similar on your own. in case you pass with something that became stated, jointly with lemon juice, "colour remover", etc this is in straight forward words as undesirable on your hair as employing a bleach with any volume peroxide developer. What i am going to signify, notwithstanding, as a replace of attempting to lighten the finished aspect, you will get foil highlights put in contained in the great in a "mohawk" section, and some contained in the perimeters to chop up the colour. and gradually putting extra in to proceed breaking apart the colour over the years... reckoning on how a lot hair you've, that could want to volume to about 8 foils on the great and four on both part. or purely weaving the very the front inch around the hairline (2 foils)... once you've any questions Hun, experience free to the contact me! yet please please please do no longer try any domicile "treatments"!!!

How long ago was it that you dyed your? i did the same thing as you did, I've washed it several times now and it is lightening up on its own.so i would not do anything to it as you'l ruin you hair, even at the hair dressers your still taking a chance of loosing your hair like thining and harsh, what ever you decide to do i wish you luck.I think it will slowly wash away on its own . I don't know the natural color of your hair.

Well, you're going to have to wait a couple weeks...otherwise you're likely to cook the crap out of your hair!
Next, find a color that you DO like and start using it. It will probably take a few applications to get it to the point where you're happy with it.
The alternative is professional double-processing. Expensive and refer back to my 1st comment on hair condition.

This just happened to me and it was a nightmare! one thing that finally worked was using a product called Color Oops, that you can find in drugstores such as Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc. It got the black out of the hair alright - but it turned it orange. So you def need to dye it back to another color, but you need to remember that it'll make your hair really really porous, so you need to choose a much lighter shade to cover it back with. really porous hair grabs onto color.

black is the worst color to get out of your hair you'll have to try to get it out with color strippers at a beauty supply store and then maybe bleach but don't do it yourself or it will totally mess up trust me you don't wanna do that have a hairstylist bleach it and maybe it will be back to normal!
