I'm taking it in conjunction with Lexapro. I have not noticed any weight gain or sexual dysfunction. My Dr. has told me that Wellbutrin has the lowest occurance of sexual dysfunction--and I believe it :-)
It took about 3 months to see a real result--don't dismay if you don't see results right away. And talk to your Dr. if you notice any changes (mental, physical) once you start.

Well anxiety is a form of depression. I take 20mg of Celexa for Anxiety. I have been on I've for almost 7 months now. I do have "bad" days but who doesn't. Make sure you are doing everything in your power to make yourself better. Plenty of exercise, eat right, no alcohol, and good sleeping habits. I have had to change my whole life to cure this disease! I am so much better for it. Ask your Doc about Celexa or Lexipro. I did a lot of research into Meds before I took anything. These have the fewest side effects and are known as "clean" SSRI's. Good luck to you. You can cure this!

Yes! I took wellbutrin for anxiety but it did not help me it was like taking sugar pills. I had no side effects. I took it for three months because my doctor kept telling me it takes time to work never did work. So I was put on ativan for three months until my anxiety was under control then the doctor weened me off the ativan. I hope it works for you. Everyones system is different. Hugs!

No I took it to quit smoking, but I can't take it any more. The Wellbutrin XL (or something like that caused me to itch all over my body.) The regular Wellbutrin doesn't work for me any more either. I would say it caused me to drop about 5 pounds, so my sexual enjoyment improved somewhat. No real affect on my stress/anxiety level.

Wellbutrin is not a good anti anxiety medication, you may want to look into benzodiazapenes or an SSRI that is a broad spectrum and covers anxiety. Sometimes the antipsychotics are also used to treat severe anxiety.

I took it a few years ago because I was crying all the time. I did stop crying, it didn't seem to alter my thoughts, just helped me better control my emotions. Regretfully, my drive was low already, therefore I couldn't say whether that was a side effect. I did not have a weight change.
