because i saw this hispanic(i think) kid and his name was darius.
his last name was rose and he didn't have an accent.
maybe one of his parents is black.
i know it's hard to go by names, color and who cares but someone try to give an effort to answer(yahoo! answers) this question.

I'm probably not the best person in world to answer your question because I know two different men (one white man and one black man) and both are named "Darius".

If I were to hamper a guess, I would say that the name transcends to any race.

Darius Rucker is the Hootie to his bandmates' Blowfish. But he's a white guy in black skin.

i don't think it's very popular, although I have a cousin named Darius, he's the only one I know by that name.
