It sounds as if she is right about where she should be. Your first child will always make you wonder if everything is going as scheduled, and it can be frustrating to see other people's children who seem to get things down faster, but every child will develop at their own pace. Looking back, that's pretty much all my daughter was saying at that time!

If, there are older siblings in the family your child might feel that they don't need to talk. My youngest son had his older brother do all of his talking for him. I took my son to his pediatrician. The doctor notice my oldest son answering all of the questions he was asking my youngest son. Dr. said "why would he want to talk. He finds no need to talk he has his brother doing all of his talking for him" When I made his brother stop talking for him. My youngest son started talking. If your really concerned you might want to think about having your child's ears checked by a nose ears and throat Dr. Possibly have a hearing test. If your child has had a lot of ear infections I would definitely have your child checked out. Good Luck!
