I've had numerous cortisone injections and am not a big fan. If used too much, they actually cause tearing of the ligaments. Depending on your condition, there's a more recent treatment in the knee called Synvisc (if that's not the right spelling it's very close). I actually got a lot of relieve with that one but I believe it's specifically for people with wear on the cartilidge.

After taking a hard fall on my knee several years ago, I was in a lot of constant pain. When none of the conventional methods worked, my doc injected my knee with cortisone. In a short time I received a great amount of relief. It really works!

My room mate did. I know this dude that got something different that he says healed if completely. It's a version of cortisone. I think it's illegal in the states though. I forget the name of it.

My room mate said it really didn 't work all that well.

I had one in my shoulder for "frozen shoulder" to help with the pain so I could do physical therapy. It worked so well. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I don't remember any pain from the shot.

Good luck.
