You can write a grant proposal to a state organization.. And if the grant is approved you will be funded.. Best way to go about is to do a search for Grant writing tools.. This will give you the basics so that your grant is accepted over others..
And then you find out what organization in your state or area has the resources to help with funding.. For example non-profit housing agencies can write Grant proposals to United Way.. United Way has funding and it allocates it as it sees fit to local non profit organizations..
Of course you could always hold fundraisers as well.. Best Fundraiser is a function I think... You can usually find a DJ who will volunteer, and if you contact the VFW's Elk lodges, Moose clubs etc they will donate the hall or let you use it for cheap.. Then you sell tickets for 5.00 or 10.00 or give tickets in exchange for donation ( sometimes make more money this way- when people can give what they want )
Call local area stores / companies and get donations of Goods (think walmart) or services (haircuts - car washes- dinners etc ) and then sell raffle tickets at your function
These can be great fundraisers if you make it fun and be creative ! I went to one and tehy had even had a cash bar ( Knights of Columbus hall ) - the drinks were just a bit higher than they would normally be and the overage was donated to the cause as well.. I have also been to one without a bar - both were fun and they raised a lot for their cause...
Good luck with your Start !!!!!!!!!!!

The way your question is worded I could be glib and suggest the NRA...

In all honesty though, have you sought council at your church? Or better yet, several local churches of all denominations?

All addictions, be they drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex or eating disorders (to name a few) are individual problems that effect the entire community. They can and do lead to homelessness, physical and/or mental abuse of self and others and a state of negativity that spreads unless the light of caring and love is applied. The requirement may not be funding as much as doing...

Have you considered helping an organisation that already exists? Here are some different non-profit Christian Charities that target the homeless and drug addicted:

I would find a foundation that deals in philathrophy to the humanities. Also, there are a few government grants and programs that deals in this especially in economically depressed disadvantaged areas. The federal government keeps a huge book listing all federal grants and programs. Go to your loca fed bldg. ask to see the federal domestic assistance catalog. Thats not the exact name of the book, but its close.
