ok my daughter is 3 years old and all she recives a month for child support 40$ also he is unemployed but she cant not live of 40$ a month its impossiable she has been getting it for almost 2 years now how can she get more why cant they make him get a job and take care of his baby he is 21 why cant the court make him get a job to take care of his child cant they put him in jail for not taking care of his child how do i go about trying to get more for my daughter

I have fought and won the child support issue many times over for the past 17 years. Unfortunately, the bottom line remains the same.....It looks good on paper, but paper doesn't feed my son. You can't make someone responsible. They either are or they aren't and that is all there is to it. Eventually it became clear to me: I don't want to drop a dime to pick up a nickel. Paying to go to court and taking time off from work never got me anywhere except more broke, because my son's deadbeat dad would only keep on hiding.
Do yourself a favor and you be responsible for your child. After all, it is yours too. Waiting for someone else to make it better will never work. You make it better. That doesn't mean that the deadbeat dad doesn't owe you, it just means you should have thought about all this BEFORE having the baby, and in that you should be as accountable as him. Make up for his downfall and be the better person....your child will respect you for it in the long run and it becomes a winning situation for you.

If he isn't working, than he isn't able to pay. Unfortunately, Constitutional law says that he's within his legal right to be a deadbeat, unemployed, bum. So no, the courts can't make him get a job. They can put him jail, but when would he be getting that job while sitting behind bars?
How about this. You forget about the loser and go get your own job, than go back to school, get a better job and support and provide for your daughter on your own. That is the best revenge you can get. Never needing him again.

I have been fighting Child Support for 6 years and i won. What county are you or this child living in? I do know the District Attorney is Not Fair nor Just in what is as they claim "the best interest for the child". You may wan't to get in touch with me on this.

Welcome to real life. First I would suggest you evaluate your job, work at bettering yourself. Don't tie your daughters future to some Idiot that got you pregnant. Second, there is nothing you can do to make somebody get a job so that they can pay more child support. Third if your actually getting 40$ a month out of him, consider yourself lucky.... its more than I've got for my wife's 2 kids.

child support is based on the said persons income each state varies on there rules and regulations govering child support the courts can't force him to work if he dont want to but legally you can take away his parents right to the child you have grounds to do such you also may contect if the payments for your child support go through the courts how to get more support they would be best to help you

well in some states if you file for food stamps, they will ask you about the daddy and they will force him to pay it or he will go to jail..
I know my brother got his child support from his ex.. that way.. she has to pay him cuz of the government help he gets .. they keep track of that..
