This is my son's computer and he cannot tell me what he did - I do not want to have to re-install Win/XP

You'll have to click on Edit, (upper left corner), then go to Preferences, Click on that. There should be a sub panel appear which has a languages category. Find it, click on English. That should do it;

Go to Control Panel and click on the Regional and Language Options. Select English.

Start - Settings - Control Panel - Regional and Language options - it'll have the language and scrol until you find english.

Go into your control panel under languages. Click on it then click on advance tab. You can change to any language there.

it can block any annoying popup ads. it can prevent most of the virus in the webpage, as you know, most of the virus is spread through internet.
