The Earth will last a few more billion years or at least until our Sun changes into a red giant and finally expands far enough to burn up/absorb the Earth. Humanity, on the other hand, is on shakier ground and will go through many ups and eventually downs in population numbers. The number of humans that the Earth can support is no where in sight yet so we are fairly safe as a population. As the population reaches into the 20 and 30 billion range then we will be pushing the limits unless we have made tremendous gains in food production and greatly decreased the amount of food waste.
From the Christian perspective, I have seen many religions prepare for the "Coming of Christ" and the "End of Times" but according to the Bible having anyone declare the date actually delays the Second Coming.
1 Thessalonians, chapter 5
1: But as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you.
2: For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3: When people say, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape.
Of course, this passage was actually written by Paul not Jesus so may be subject to interpretation.
I am not sure by what you mean when you say "Golden Age". I view the present time to be the best ever, advances in medical sciences, food production, and energy production have helped hundreds of million people around the world. I am confident that the future will continue to allow the "haves" to help the "have nots" even more in the coming years. Humans around the planet have suffered since the beginning of time regardless of their religion. Being born in the wrong place is the primary cause of poverty. Hopefully in the future we will see more opportunity for people to find hospitable surroundings and be able to prosper and thrive rather than being forced to live in decay by boundaries built of politics and theology.
If you worry that man will destroy himself with nuclear weapons and war or if we will be wiped out by disease, then put aside your fears. A few poor stiffs will survive all of it and start over to rebuild from the ruins.
The real question for me is do I want to be a survivor in that case or do I want the quick way out? Since I live in Seattle rather than "Timbuktu" I guess I have made that decision. ;-) But still, I choose to live in hope and expectation rather fear and depression. Peace to all!

The earth will be fine for quite some time. There are no apocalyptic visions that say anything about the earth being destroyed. Just mankind.

if this theory is true, then the earth will go through its golden age. after that, who knows. maybe there will be another ice age or something and earth will start the cycle over again.

I don't know anything about the stuff that you wrote, but I think we have more than thirty years. One hundred I doubt. It is the end of the world, and I think it will be something nuclear. My guess, but don't quote me on it, would be 52.

I think it is a waste of time to speculate when the world ends when Christ tells us that no man knows
