Does he crash into the trees or go right through them?

Yes, the ghost of Tarzan still swings from tree to tree. He doesn't have to, but he still enjoys it. As far as crashing, he usually goes right through them. His favorite trick is scaring Cheetah the monkey.
Does this mean that Tarzan is dead???

He swings "through" them, and according to Beetlejuice, the living aren't supposed to see ghosts unless they are strange and deranged.
