I'm not an expert but heavens, no. If every little boy who ever painted a nail, dressed up as a girl for Halloween, played with a doll, or acted girlie in his life were to turn gay there would be no straight men left in the world. I'm not sure I would encourage a boy to paint his nails pink, but I wouldn't worry about it either.

If he does turn gay, well, it won't have anything to do with his nails and probably not with anything you did. You can write back then and I'll tell you to accept him. I don't want you to worry about it for the next ten years, though. Make sure he eats right and doesn't get too many ear infections, that's what you can do.

I know a lot of people that are guys and paint their nails, my brother along with many of his friends wear a lot of pink cloths, he is 10. I don't know what you would define as gay, buy if you mean that you think he will grow up and date other boys then i don't think u have anything to worry about. He is only 5 and does not yet know of the "Birds and Bee's"....hopefully. If he doesn't know about sex then when he does you will know if he is gay or not, that is my opinion. I don't think there is such a thing as gay and straight when you are 5. Maybe 10 or 11 but not 5.

If you are concerned that he may turn out to be gay, why and when did you let him start using nail polish? Not just pink! Any nail polish for a little boy is just not acceptable to me. He probably likes watching what you are doing, not necessarily "nail Polish". Get him some paint of his own for finger painting or markers he can color mathbox cars with. He's too young for modeling paint!

First of all, nail polish has been proven harmful and toxic by many really really really smart chemists. So I wouldn't paint anyone's nails, especially a child's.

Regarding the pink color choice -- little kiddies don't always understand color/gender barriers. Lots of adult men even wear pink shirts to serious places like office jobs.

Just think twice about the nail polish!

More than likely he is probably just mimicking what he sees you do. At the same time dont indulge his want of pink nails, explain to him that is for girls, not little boys and most definantly dont tell him that he will be gay he is way too young for that.I dont think you have anything to worry about......of 7 brothers and sisters my mom had the only girl so i spent most of my childhood playing with my guy cousins and I didnt turn out to be a lesbian.

he's two YEARS old! so what if he performs with dolls makeup etc? it does not advise he will advance up gay! at 2yrs old he would not actually have a idea of sexuality or sexual charm. he's merely fiddling with the toys you've given him. go away him be, enable him play with what he needs if dolls make him chuffed so be it through next week he will be fiddling with crammed animals or progression blocks. do not Analise each and every ingredient he does. And if in 10yrs+ time he has found out he's gay then love and help him a similar as you'll if he replaced into instantly. =)

Accroding to Sigmoun Frued- i know heeere we go- it could be a slight edipus complex- where son falls in love with mommy. Now to a certain extent this is normal. A lot of little boys like to do whatever they see mommy do. When i was younger BOTH of my brothers used to paly dress up with me... in dresses... and makeup.... they arent gay. It seems to me your son just idolizes you and wants to be big like mommy.
On the upside it is very good for working his eye-hand coordination!

It's just a novelty to him, just explain that hes a boy and not a girl, and some things are girls only and people at school will think hes a girl etc etc, but it doent mean hes gay, just fascinated by something new!

No, it doesn't. Pink is a color. It's not a gender-identifier. Colors one wears shouldn't be determined by what is between one's legs. That's just stupid, in my opinion.

And many men paint their nails. That's a non-issue.
