If you are staying in a bad marriage because of what society would think - then you are sacrificing your own happiness to live in a world you will soon come to resent. It is more important to be in a loving, healthy relationship than to be in one where you are emotionally or physically unhappy - especially if there is a threat to your own safety. The church has corrupt views in a lot of areas - particularly in the marriage area. Why can't Catholic priests get married, to avoid the alternative of the young alter boys who are sometimes tainted for life? You can't live your life according to what others think - or you will never be happy.

As a man I can say that my wife and I are happier now than we ever were.
Both of us have children from previous relationships we live with our daughter Emily-Rose(5),Ave's ex husband lives next door with Charlotte(20),Jamie(17) and Stephanie(13).Just across the road the eldest Vikki(22) lives with her partner and daughters Amber(5) and Ella(8 months). That makes Us Grandparents.
My Ex partner Mel lives on the next road with our son Ryan(12) and her daughter Megan(7) and all of them seem to converge on this house at once. That's why I'm sat here at 6 in the morning,it's the only time I get to go on the computer.

I think all that really matters is that you love that person. Why should you get married if you're perfectly happy without it? Marriage works for some people and doesn't for others.

Being happily married to someone you really love and have a family........if more thought went into the marriage prior to the wedding, the divorce rate would be much lower.........
