i think it has alot to do with the idea of religious extremism, and they basically justify their acts by having faith in their God and believing that they are doing what their religion/God asks of them. Now of course not all followers of that religion believe or interpret their written texts the same way, but terrorists i think interpret their religion in an extremist fashion and then commit acts such as hurting innocent people. To be able to hurt millions of innocent ones though, would mean to numb yourself of feeling anything. there would be an awful lot of psychological and mental changes that must take place with terrorists in order for them to commit such acts without feeling any remorse for what they are going to do.

My opinion is that most terrorists are religious fanatics. They believe the only way to serve their god is by killing the ones that go against their god, or don't belive in their god. There are terrorists of every faith--- the christians are among some of the bloodiest, if you look at all of history and not just the last decade; I don't want my comments to somehow make it look like only Muslims do such horrible things. There are extremists in all religions (except maybe Buddhism or Hinduism because I have never heard of a Buddhist suicide bomber).

. I think people kind of lose their minds when they do things "in the name of god." They really think that god wants everyone who does not follow that god to be destroyed. If you really believe your god will approve of violence, then you really have nothing to fear and nothing inside you to keep you from acting on your violent intentions.

It seems to be initated by some bully country invading a weak country to steal oil. People from all around try to help get rid of the invaders. When the fighting gets going good, the bully country hides out and let's them kill each other, while quietly stealing the oil and selling it. Then everybody but the bully country gets labeled as terrorists.

Virtue is a reality shared by many. Although the virtues of life may seem right and real to you or your friends; other people with knowledge-resources and a different attitude will disagree. The act of harming innocent people--a device to confuse, insult, and supress the morale of any person affected by the act.

Mexican electorate, and Mexican people are filling up the ranks of the U.S. military. this does not seem to in nice condition nicely for Anglo-those who want to deport them. If a bitter warfare breaks out interior the South West, it would nicely be between rival Mexican drug cartels. It sucks yet that is what's up.

Extreme poverty, both of their own and of those of their religion\race. The tendency of western materialistic culture to pervade worldwide, and its grating with traditional culture.

Those who say religious fanaticism seem a tad short-sighted. What causes the religious fanaticism? And can't you bet that, were the situation reversed, and the strict Muslim temperance were pervading our own culture to the extent that our decadence was threatened, that some westerners would go over there and explode themselves.

no self respecting terrorist would do any less. They can use the fact that innocent people are dying on a naive public and make them believe the good guys are at fault

It probably always comes down to hate. And they don't see people as 'innocent', they are able to do what they do because they see people as enemies.
