Many people are divercified enough to accept & handle a multicultural relationship, but I often wonder how it would be if you were not only in a relationship with someone from another race but can it really work out if you also come from different religious backgrounds? And being in a relationship is one thing, but can it work out if you wanted to marry? Hmmm, what are your thoughts on this?

Yes. But both of you need to be broad-minded.

I'll let you in on a secret: deep down all religions say pretty much the same things, the differences on the surface. They're all paths to the same goal.

I know quite a few people who are happily married to someone of differing religious beliefs. I even know atheists who are happily married to christians. All married couples have certain subjects on which they don't agree...religion can just be one of them. If both partners understand why the other has picked a certain religion...then it can work out great. Just like with any other marriage, communication and understanding are key factors to living happily ever after.

I have asked that question (more or less) to every highly notable person I have met. From Halocaust survivors to bakers, to politicians, etc... They have all said that the one most important factor to make a marriage stick is to have the same religion. All that have been divorced tell me that it was differences of faith that were the roots of disagreement. You asked a good question.

I think that even marrying someone with no religion is even riskier. What if they decide to become a mormon, a scientologist, a buddist or a wiccan. Are you ready to agree to and live harmoniously with unfamilliar practices in your home? Good luck.

If someone is truly religious, then most religions teach understanding, acceptance, compassion and love. Perhaps the question should be, "If I love this person this much, how can I not spend then rest of my life with them?"

Any religion that teaches that someone is "bad" or not worthy of our love because they foster different beliefs, has no place in this world, and should be avoided. I am agnostic and I fear no-one, I hate no-one, and I love all people, regardless of religion. Does this anger your God? If it does, then I am glad. Because any God who shows us to hate others because they love has no place in my life.

Yes as long as you both respect each others belief.

It wouldn't matter at all unless one or both were psychotic about their religion.
