To see how well we would get along despite our differences, and to see the things we would do and say in His name, including judging another's fate, either directly with our words/lips, in our minds or by what we tell our children?

I tend to think all these religions are opportunities for different people and cultures to reach what we call God. Different paths leading to the same end. Many religions are much more strict in what is expected from their followers. Like Islam, Orthodox Jews, Buddhists. Christianity is one of the less demanding paths because the path is guaranteed by forgiveness. But, what ever path one chooses, I'm not sure that one is more right than another. If the religion teaches the same principals and morals as what we learn from Christianity, how can we consider it a wrong path. In Christianity there are prophets and teachers. The same goes for other religions. Who says the Christian prophets and teachers are the only ones anointed by God. They may simply be the ones provided for those of us who aren't disciplined enough to live a strict sectarian lifestyle and need Gods forgiveness to still have a path to Him.

I don't think it was a test, but rather wanting to provide the same opportunity for all mankind knowing that we all aren't alike.

man... that's good... Authentic thinking is hard to find. There is no real way of truely grabbing my hands around this question and teaching it tricks. I'd really like to say that I hope. I don't really enjoy religions because I believe, God being all powerful and all that great jazz, that he/she/it be able to look within that person/animal/entity soul and say... hey... this being was trying to help everyone and thought what he was doing was for the bettermeant of life. He's a good person. He gets a thumbs up. You're in Mike. I bet he calls everyone Mikes... It's not like you're going to correct him or something...

There was a bunch of them when christianity first started. I think I read somewhere there were about 3000. The bilble said there would be many false prophets. That is why most churches tell you to read the bible. Don't take their word for it. As for as gettilng along, they didn't get along then and they don't now.

No. It is Satans' real test.
James 1:12 Happy is the man that keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him. 13 When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death

What a cruel test. I see a lot of killing going on in the world over religious differences.

I think that the real god has nothing to do with this world, our individual personalities and bodies, etc. Those who have a direct experience of god (enlightenment) resolve the issues finally.

NO God doesnt want religions to exist. He wants us to EXIST.

If there were no religions 99% of all hatred would disapear.

The world would be able to be improved by the power of our

minds versus our superstitions and crutches.
