it is true that this is absolutely maddening....i think that some people wouldn't even know how to change the words that are spelled wrong.

I totally agree with you. People who have no right using a keyboard are being allowed to run rampant. I worked in typing and proofreading for 30 years. The fact that young people today don't know the first thing about spelling is absolutely pitiful. Also, I find people have no regard for handwriting anymore since the computer is so popular.
When I worked in on line customer service, it aggravated me no end that people who typed about two letters a minute were coming in for help on a computer related interactive investment program. Going to a live help option when you are unable to type fast enough "to be cohesive" is just rude and inconsiderate of people who are WORKING to solve your problems.
There should be a law that you carry an "I can type at least 50 wpm" permit before you are allowed to buy on line access for your computer. This sounds humorous and I admit it is to some extent, but I am completely serious.

As the old saying goes: "If I had a nickel for every..." in this case, question about why people don't use spell check...."I'd be a damn sight richer." Between this and the George Carlin questions, I'm thinking maybe I should write up some stock responses in WordPerfect and then just cut and paste them in.

They are the same people that don't use spell check on e-mail - and that can be automatically set to check when you click send.

Spell checking doesn't really work. Literacy, education, and reading things might help.
Other than that close your eyes!!!!
