It may not be cuz she is female. but because you are probably the one that spends more time with her. My two cats (brother/sister)are my baby's. They snuggle with me when I watch t.v. If I am up and about doing chores or on the computer, then they snuggle with my husband. But I am home more than my husband so I think that is why they tend to choose me first. The same with my 9 mo cocker spaniel. She sill get her toys and jump on my recliner and play but not with my husband. The animals know who takes care of them. They're just funny that way. good luck.

Not all femail cats are just for females I had 2 a mother and her daughter the mother was 16.5 yrs . and her daughter will be 14 yrs. this month. The mother will go to anyone, well her daughter which happens to be the runt of the litter, will only have anything to so with me, shes my shaddow . So I tend to think its more the runts of the litter if their females , for some reason they are more protective ! denise n.

Cats are just a very weird animal. They do their own thing when they. They answer to no one unless they want to . Everything is always on their terms. They choose who they want in their lives and could care less about anyone or any thing else just as long as they are happy.

Cats are like any other creature...if they're not socialized while young, they become particular...ie: insecure. This is especially true of cats raised in homes while people are at work, with no children around and few visitors.

hello:
>>> all cats are incredably different...and some do change certain habits as they age...
>>> i have 3 cats...2 are extremely friendly to
everyone. the 3rd had a very strange start and
she doesn't interact with the other cats - they
bathe and sleep together.
>>> my 3rd cat is shy.....after she gets to know she goes to them and demands attention...some folks never see her...
>>>no 2 are exactly the same...unless: maybe
we clone them.......

My boy cat is like that. He was a feral kitten and I got him at about 7 weeks old. He will always be half feral and no one else will ever be able to pet him but me.

Ours are just the opposite. The male is afraid of strangers and the female likes every body.

Perhaps your cat was abused by a stranger, and only trusts and loves you.
