We have a cordless phone(5.4 GHZ) and it always seems to have static whenever we take it outside(so what is the point in having a cordless??). What in your opinion is the best phone on the market now?

The high meg phones are a gimmic to get people to switch so that it is easier to eavesdrop on you by the government. nearly 300 million people in the U.s. ..they couldn.t monitor everybody so they came up with the "nobody can hear your call" phone...The ones that buy these are the people with the secrets, therefore the people they want to listen to. It's easier to sift through a couple million calls than 300 million. So you go ahead and believe them when they "swear" that these phones can't be intercepted if you want to...I'm sticking to my Landline (old corded phone) remember...if it goes through the air, the game ain't fair!!!!!

Uniden, or Panasonic. I have a Uniden, and it is always crystal clear reception. Before you get another phone, you should try connecting the base to a different phone jack in the house and try using it outside again. Sometimes a faulty phone jack can cause static. Hope this helps!
