The country code for the USA is 001. That is why you only have to dial 1 then the number in the US.

you can find out by,,,typing in information/international area codes,(on your computer) it should give you the number from the country you are calling from to the country you are calling to,,,I went through this with a person in Belarus,,,I really hate to give a bad number,,,but that person had to put 8-800-101 before the number being called to the states,,,,something else you might try is calling the telephone company and ask them what numbers they will need to make the call,,,I hope this helps a little for you
