Both. I get offended and will usually gripe at the guy, but still consider it a compliment even if I think it's inappropriate.

I feel insulted. I think that if you have the freakin guts to wolf whistle at me in public then by golly you should have had the guts to come over here and talk to me. And since you can only wolf whistle at me, what makes you think that I'm going to be happy about it?

I'm not into that wolf-whistling thing and I'm not into flirting for over 5 minutes. If you like me, say so! Don't mess around with it. Just say so and hey you might get me to say that I like you back. But if you wolf whistle and then approach me..you're going to get the cold shoulder big time.

So yeah big insult.

Good question :) Truthfully at first I feel flattered. It does have a way of boosting your confidence a bit. Although when you think about it, you know that these type of men are pigs. You are not the only one they have whistled at for the day, they have probably whistled at every little peace of *** they have seen that day. Not to mention, they are most likely married or in a relationship. Most men are just nasty pigs! Anyway, hope I helped some. Good luck:)

i actually feel insulted cause i feel like i am being thought of as a peice of meat or a toy for their sexual satisfaction of the eyes. I would much rather have a man walk up to me and say hey you sure look beautiful today. Or something sweet like that i mean the crude comments that some men make can make a woman feel much more worthless than make them feel like they were just complimented.

Those whistles are rare these days, but when I was younger I loved them! They say a lot without the crude words or gestures that some men feel compelled to share with you.

Its kinda both cuz I know I look good...not trying to be vain but...and then its rude cuz they feel like that's all they have to do like calling for a dog but if you like how someone look you can just say "Hey you fine!"

But then again I would rather get whistled at then not at all or have a guy even look my way...can you imagine a life like that?

I think it is usually meant as a compliment, although I find it rude.
