Yes, many of those debt relief, credit counseling service may leave you in worse shape than you are now.
You would do better by doing it yourself and save that money.
Yes, credit bureaus "do" sell peoples information. Thats how they stay in business. One way to get them to stop selling your information is to opt out. It usually takes a month or so for it to be fully in effect. When you opt out, only companies that have permissible purpose can access your reports.

I would suggest going to the link that I've provided and do some reading in the newbie forum and in the credit forum. Learn how to do your credit yourself. It is a "free" site. Never pay for credit repair info, especially when you can get it for free.

RE :Is there a company that hepl people with bad credit truly get out of debt.?
There are many company that claim that they will help you get out of debt but I have found that they will make it worst for you. Credit report agancy sell your information to other scam artist who will send you things in your e-mail that will check your credit and make your score lower.

The only help you will ever really get in getting out of debt is found within yourself! Go to the library or purchase a simplified "How To Get Out of Debt" book or manual. It truely is not as difficult as these companies would have you believe. You will have to methodically set a plan out as what you need to do according to what instructions are given you in your research. Then DO IT!!! Each day take a step foward in your plan, whether it is, to contact all 3 of the national credit bureau's requesting a copy of your credit report or writing a letter to credit bureau to have attacted to a report stating as to why you were late in paying or ect; your reference book will point the way for you. You do not need to pay others to do this for you and put yourself further into debt and intrust total strangers to your future. And as others have already told you....they are RIP_OFF'S!!!! It is true! You can do this. Ask questions of others, those with wisdom in the experience of life and finance, when you need clarification in the manual you've seleted to guide you through this. It's truely so EASY but takes time and dedication to repair your good name. You did not get bad credit in few days and will not get good credit in those same few days. But...when you do get your good name back you will never regret the patience and persistance you have put into this effort! So...just GIT HER DONE! Good Luck!!

check with your united way agency, they have a credit counseling service that can set it up with your creditors where you pay a set amount a month and they will waive the finance charges. I think that may have an effect on your credit tho, check with them and see. I personally have credit debt problem and i went on CNN money website and clicked on calculators and used their Debt Reduction calculator, i put in each of my balances and their finance charge amount (percantage) and then calculated how much i needed to pay to be debt free in 2 years, it told me who to pay and how much each month and so far it is working great for me, I am not paying any more than I was before...its only the amounts to each that are different and the debt is coming down faster. Most of those companys you see online for debt reduction are only out for their fee so be careful. Let us know how it works out:-)

you do not favor to incur the more desirable price of hiring a debt consolidation company to settle your mastercard debt. It makes so a lot extra experience to apply you money to pay your lenders without delay than to pay somebody else to do it for you. Your lenders gained't make any concessions to them, in reality they'd a lot truly paintings without delay with you. right here's some wide-spread ideas which will be efficient. If the account continues to be on the monetary company or series organization (and also you've to distinguish between an organization, which collects for the monetary company and is in charge to the monetary company, and a debt shopper, which collects for itself) aspect, you would possibly want to manage to settle it for 80% - ninety%. they gained't settle for something below that. If the account is at a debt shopper, you would possibly want to manage to settle it right now. do not overlook that in the experience that they'd purely bought the account in the previous month or 2, they gained't settle for something decrease that 60% - 70% of the total volume as a contract. in the experience that they have had the account for 3 - 6 months, they are going to settle for a decrease contract, likely you will get it all the way down to 50%, possibly even below that. also, chance is that once 6 - 7 months, they are going to promote the account to a unique debt shopper. be certain, once you agree, to get from them a "paid in finished" letter, that you've to deliver to the credit bureaus to replace your credit heritage. it really is all there is to it. you're a lot extra efficient off employing you money to pay off your debts than to pay somebody else to do it for you. good success!
