Let me see if I follow you:
1. Sheep are stupid animals.
2. Believers are referred to as sheep.
3. Therefore believers are stupid.
In one sense, you are correct. To people who don't understand Christianity, Christians appear stupid. Love your enemies? Pray for those who persecute you? Forgive those who hurt you? That really seem stupid.
Secondly, your premise may be false: sheep are not stupid animals; they are simple, trusting, dependent; somewhat like children. But that three-year-old IS your child. And Christians claim God as their Daddy (Abba). Christians are dependent on God for EVERYTHING. This,of course, is a metaphor.

Sheep are actually incredibly smart. I own two sheep, for show at fairs and such. But they are actually really smart...they know when and where they are suppose to do certian things. Jus like Believers know how and what to say...and when to just follow...now grant you some are outspoken and forceful...but others can be your common blue collard person just doing the right thing...and following it what they believe in. Now what is so harmful/stupid about that?? Anyway that's my opinion.

I've never heard of an IQ test for sheep, so to assume they're stupid would be an assumption. Yes, it's a metaphor. Not saying that "believers" are stupid, but follow "the shepard" ie. Jesus, or a minister, or preacher, or other leaders whom "shepard" to a "flock". So, no, not stupid, just followers.

Believers aren't referred to as sheep because they're stupid, they're referred to as sheep because they follow blindly like sheep follow a shepherd.

Have you ever held a small helpless kitten? You didn't think of the animal as stupid did you? You probably thought you wanted to help this animal by feeding it and taking care of it. Its a fragile living being that is important to you. That's the same meaning of believers being refferred to as sheep, not that they are stupid but they need God to help guide them through life just as the kitten needs you to care for it.

First, sheep are not stupid (so you must be since you didn't
know this to begin with). Sheep know who owns them and
feeds them so they follow and obey him (the shepherd).
Christians are like sheep who know we're His children and
so we follow and obey the Christ. That way, we don't lose
our way and get into trouble. See? No stupidity here. The
sheep and Christians are both razor sharp and therefore lead
wonderful, save lives.

the excellent international of trend... X-factor.... from political rallies to crowds at activities activities to mobs interior the streets... sure, we maximum human beings have a real tendency to wish to affix a flock, and sheep is oftentimes no longer beside the point. Which makes the "chief effect" particularly comprehensible, whether it quite is a spiritual guru or a activities or trend icon. yet whilst Jesus is who he's held out ot be, then we do stand in that courting. (additionally as clay to a potter, in accordance to Romans 9, even much less flatteringly) yet it is an *if* i do no longer carry to be genuine, whilst no longer on the instant waving a banner for the sheer noble splendor of humanity. (in fact with all of the 2012 questions, i'm having to revise my estimate of uncomplicated human intelligence downwards. returned.)

One of the points about sheep, the smart part is they know the voice of their shepherd. When another man calls them, they do not respond.
Jesus sheep know his voice and follow him wherever he goes.
