What? Atheists do not force their beliefs on people. Atheists tell people the truth and allow them to make up their own minds. It is Christians and Muslims and other religions who force their beliefs on people. (By the way, the bible is "proof" of nothing.)

It's not about "forcing atheism" on anybody. It's about actually giving sciantific proof that can't be denied so that the God-believers will see what makes perfect sense instead of that which makes no sense at all. Also, if you want to be christian but you're swayed by a cousin that gives you proof then you're really sad. Believing is about believing, not what people tell you is true or not. I think religion is like this: if you would have been raised on an deserted island alone would you still believe in God? Because what other people tell you shouldn't be what you decide after...your friend should get an opinion of herself. And you stop trying to make her christian.

You can not force someone to believe an idea. People make their own choices. I am an atheist but I always let my children choose for themselves whether or not to go to church. If they asked me why I am an atheist, then I answered their questions; I never tried to force my beliefs on them. As for finding truth in the bible, well it's just another book, not proof.

That is a funny question. I know a lot of athiests, and i have never seen one force a person to believe anything. However i've seen lots (and lots, and lots, and lots) of religious people force (and try to force) people to think stuff. I remember my sunday school days, where we were punished if we didn't say all the stuff we were told to. However when i've told atheists i don't agree they generally say "okay". Insidious, i know, but true. So, perhaps the question itself is flawed, or maybe even a trick question, and so the correct answer is they don't.

Sorry to hear that. It will take great strength for your friend to be able to stand up to her cousin and get her to accept her choice in life. Ultimately, you have done what you can - you have brought her to Jesus, now, you need to step back and pray, allowing her to make her decision.
It is your friends choice, be there for her with a kind and gentle heart, and if you get the chance to guide her to Jesus, do so, but ultimately, she must make the final decision to follow him also.
She is being pressured by two people she cares deeply about, both she wants to make happy and please. You need to allow her the freedom to choose, even if her cousin does not. By showing her the love and respect that Jesus gives us everyday, she will come back to him.
As the cliché states: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."
She must want the Living Water before she's willing to drink it.
God bless you - I wish I'd had friends like you when I was younger. I will pray for you and your friend - but especially her cousin.

Athiest try very hard to get people to belive in something that they claim isn't real, Why try to prove something that they don't belive in. If they don't belive them they need to shut up and keep it to themselfs. God will one day show them that hes real. The Bible says EVERY KNEE WILL BOW BEFORE HIM. I like to witness to them but if they don't want to here it the Jesus said to WIPE THE DUST OFF OUR FEET AT THERE DOORSTEPS.

Apparently, your friend's cousin is a bad atheist, because it's not that hard to shoot down bible passages. But yes, to believe or not believe is a personal choice.

Force? As in the crusades, inquistion and dark ages?
Nope, atheists don't "force" anyone to be atheist. They present the facts of reality, and the individual is able to choose whether to aknowledge truth, or believe in fairy tales.

Good point. I was an agnostic at one time but I did not try to force my beliefs on anyone. But atheist are different. They are convinced that God does not exist. I think it is easier for them to believe it if they can convince someone else. It affirms their belief.

Everyone can be 'religious' (rigid) in their thought systems - christians, muslims, atheists, new agers, scientists, etc. The key is to recognize this as incredibly distasteful and avoid it in ourselves -- meaning, don't try to get society to support our rituals and beliefs, don't try to convert others, don't think that we have the truth and others are wrong, etc,
