ever liked a guy, and i mean really like, only to learn that he can't or won't get serious with you you because of your child (children)?

i know some guys will say it's because of the EX, but in my situation, me and my ex get along great and their is no animosity. i would not let any man get to know my son until i really get to know him, no matter how long that may take.

i wonder why guys discriminate like this? in my experience it is the single mothers who have the harder time dating than the single fathers who don't even have their child or (children) living with them.

does anyone agree?

i agree, a lot of guys don't want all the baggage.... but there are many men who are willing to date someone with kids. I'm married now and I have 2 kids from previous relationships. You just gotta wait and you'll find the right one.

I think it stems from a man's concept of ownership. Most men will date women who haven't had children yet, so that if they ever end up together, the child that will ensue would be THEIRS and THEIRS alone. In this case, it's not immaturity, but a concept or a belief issue. This could also be the case in which the guy has had issues in his own childhood of having a single parent trying to find a date, but then again some guys who went through this, might actually respect you for it.

Other men are just immature. They don't want to settle down, and they certainly don't anyone who already has. They think, that you're only dating in order find a FATHER or a FATHER FIGURE for you child, and personally do not prefer being judged in that category, especially since they aren't ready for that kind of role. Here the issue is just that your levels of maturity are mismatched.

Some men won't care either way if you're a mother or not. They just want you for your body. Some men will actually look for mothers, purely to feed a fetish that they may or may not have.

Very few men exist out there that will like you for you, and might actually turn out to be potential fathers or father figures.

I grew up with a single mother who never found anyone to settle down with, and in some ways, I kinda wish she had. I tried my best to take care of her, but she would be a LOT better off, if she found someone. Maybe I would've been better off aswell.

GOOD LUCK!

No I don not agree with you. The thing the guy that you like he only wants to have sex with you. He thinks since you are a single mother it will be easy. The rest are just lies.

most of my friends are males, and a few of them are single parents rasing their children alone... so I would say that it may be harder for a single parent to date because most people who want a relationship wants to start a family not join one..

some guysdo say its because they dont want conflict wit your baby daddy but other guys think that your trying to find a baby daddy or they think you will ask them to babysit or buy your child things like clothes, toys and most men dont want to look like a father figure and some have kids of their own and dont take care of them and think if i'm around her and her kids i could be around my own but dont want to be bothered with their own so they leave you alone men are so confused its a shame
