These passages explain it quite well:

2 Timothy 3:1-7
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

Matthew 24:9-12
"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold...

What if we don't actually hate you guys, but are just a bit irritated that many of you can so loudly do stuff like support war, carry anti-gay signs during an AIDS walk, shout at teenage girls being helped to the cars after an abortion, and then say you're following the example of a dude who's life was dedicated to "love thy neighbor as thyself" and "love thine enemy." Did you know that in 1st Corinthians chapter 13 the Bible says that love is a greater virtue than faith? Jesus got it right, but it seems like every Christian with a megaphone or a tv show or a political office gets it wrong. Seems like the more you talk about Jesus, the less you have to act like him.

If you know a bit about the story of satan then you know he is the prince of this world.
satan lost the war with God right?
Satan is still ticked off about that. He wants to keep as many humans from God as he can. So it is in tha tattempt that all the deceptions and misleading about The Truth of the Salvation message is spread by the forces of satan. All of these lies have been bought by so many and the hate they cause is directed towards those who are God's people.

satan is also still mad about not being able to turn Jesus and break the trinity... that was his last chance at directly getting to God. Now it is his work to deceive as many as possable.... He is not recruting just decieving. Followers will do him no good and he knows that.

We are all lost, and searching for something to fill a need inside of us. If you don't understand something, then it's easier to put done or ridicule others. Many people try to do things with the best intentions, but don't consider how it mite be taken by others. There are many different ways to express what we believe, and share it with others if they want to hear it. It's like reaching out your hand with a gift in it, it's there for the other person to take if they choose to. We all make chooses everyday, and pay the consequences for them. So will each believer, and non-believer. Pray about how you should live you life, and let God lead you in the way you should go. Remember we are creatures of examples, and we learn from examples more then from words at times. Be an example by how you live your life, and the chooses you make.

I don't know of anyone who hates Jesus. He was a great guy, a wonderful teacher, kind, loving, the example of what everyone should be, and maybe our savior.
But when those who claim to follow him act bigotted, hateful and judgemental, it's tempting to hate them. I love Jesus and try to follow him, but I can't blame people who want nothing to do with his "followers" who don't even come close to following his example of unconditional love.
Since you're even asking this question, I don't think you're one of his "hateful" followers, and I'm not directing any kind of criticism toward you, but there are a lot of people out there who have pushed people away from God.

Jesus had only wonderful and compassionate teachings to give to the peoples of the world. It is when Powerful Bad Guys use Jesus as excuse to control little guys through little guys' faith is when Jesus's teachings get all twisted around and evil gets done in Jesus's name. Also, self-righteous sanctimony condemnation of anyone the least bit different from Jesus-worshipper looks hypocritical in light of what Jesus did and said. Saying you love Jesus and saying Jesus will save you because you accept Him is not going to keep you in the Love of God forever. Only doing what jesus did will do that. Be nice, even to Bad Guys. Feel sorry for Satan, he is a misguided doofus.

Really, you find people who hate Jesus and you? Perhaps your with the wrong crowd. Go to a bar and have a beer, act as if your just a normal person, living a normal life. It may be hard at first and the beer may taste awful but force yourself to drink just one and ask normal questions like, Whats fun to do in this town, or, how about this seasons ball team. Then when they ask you about yourself you can tell them your story, but not until you have walked a mile in their shoes. It may even make you like yourself more and not read hate into everything you hear.

I don't believe it is a matter of hate as much as it is a lack of understanding. I believe my self to be a close follower of Christ and am not hated for living as I believe to live.

christians aren't usually hated for their belief as much as for trying to push things on others they don't want to deal with. I believe in passing out what I know, but I do believe if a person rejects what I have to say I leave it at that.

Christ himself said we can't serve two masters. Those that are not followers of Christ are followers of Satan. They have nothing in common with one another. It is the lack of common ground that most see as hate. One day it will be hate, just before Jesus comes because. And I would suppose it is starting to head in that direction now.

Because of the sinful nature of humans, which rebels against God. Jesus Himself said that we would not be above Him - if they hated Him (and they did), they will hate us also.... But not everybody hates Jesus. The LORD has called certain people to be saved and to love Him... we don't know who all those people are, but He does. And true believers really do love Jesus. And we will be joined together for eternity!

Some followers are just hypocrites, and so they are disliked for their hypocrisy.

Others are faithful followers, and they are disliked because people want to hate their enemy, not love them.

In both cases, while very different, what people say can make other people uncomfortable. I call this "The Fear of Words."

Those who are enslaved by fear think that a man who does not share their fear is untrustworthy. Most men also fear other men, money, violence, etc. The idea of fearing God simply makes no sense to them. They take it too literally, and not in a spiritual sense.

The violence of hypocrite scripture-thumpers (Osama, Bush, Popes, etc,) makes it very difficult for Christ to be understood. History is controlled by the choices of immoral men, of which we are all a part.
