No I dont think it is right. They are the ones who made the decision to smoke in the first place. The tobacco cos shouldn't be making tobacco, but who's buying it and getting cancer?!

See, there is poison available in market also. But , will you sue the company which marketed it ? Absolutely not ! Same is the case with Tobacco companies. You can't sue them to produce Cigarette . Its your wish to consume it or not ! Remember if u have got will power then u will not turn to tobacco and eventually you will not need to sue any tobacco company .

Smokers made a choice to smoke. The tobacco companies did not force them.
The companies DID make it appealing though & also marketed to children at one time, so they do have to take some responsibility for pushing the addictive nicotine on the public.
Carbon monoxide kills.

How can you take whom seriously? The tobacco company or the smoker? Irrespective of who you are talking about, these are sad situations where somebody, usually poor or penniless has a life-threatening condition and suing the tobacco company is the only way to get health care (other than through Medicaid).

No... it's not like back in the 1950's when cigarettes were actually advertised as GOOD for you, and then everyone got cancer. Anyone today knows the risk of cigarettes, and can hold no one responsible but themselves for choosing to smoke and opening themselves up to cancer.

Yes and no. I think everyone today is well aware of the effects of smoking. Prior to surgeon general health warnings... then yes, people have the right to sue.

NO! It is ridiculous! You make conscious decisions and to smoke and then sue is ridiculous. They knew the consequences. Face them and quit whining.
