Your first mistake is having Windows ME on your system. You should have spent the money you spent on System Mechanic on Windows XP Home. It would have completely solved this problem. But if you insist on using an outdated system. Go on the Microsoft website and search on kernel32.dll. This is a data link library that is probably corrupted. Get a new copy of this program and copy it over the old program. It should solve the problem. Windows 98 & 98SE also had similar problems. Again I would advise you to upgrade yoour system software it will make a huge difference in your computer system.

kernel32.dll is the main file for Windows. If you are getting kernel errors, you probably need to reinstall Windows ME. You should be able to put in the Windows CD and let it boot form the CD. Start the set up, and when it reaches that point where it ask about formating the drive, tell it not to format - to use the drive as it is. It should reinstall over the top without erasing anything and fix the problem.

(Better yet, upgrade to XP. ME has a lot of kernal and other bugs which is why Microsoft abandoned it in less than a year)

reinstall windows. kernel32.dll is the link between userspace applications and the kernel(The mainpart of the operating system). Its amazing your even getting an error.

This sounds like your version of windows has an issue (kernel is the heart of the OS). Have you tried running any antivirus/antispyware? if it comes up blank you probably need to restore your system from the install disks

I agree you should update your OS but that won't solve your immediate problem. There are some links below that can give you specifics.
