Who else thinks that child support laws should fall under federal juristiction?..My point it that I know several women who have deadbead dads who just move around and cross state boundaries to evade paying child support every time they are found..more over one state will NOT persue over state lines of another even when the payee has given ORS the deadbeat's address, phone numbers and work places..JUST one of these women is owed in excess of 75K..36K of that is 30 miles south of her in the same state and ORS just farts around and does little to nothing..they find him, he moves two doors down and they make yet MORE excuses ...Who else thinks once they are found, before they disapear, they should be arrested on the spot for evasion?..Or at least served a summons BEFORE they are notified by ORS

Heather appreciate the answer but two of the fathers have repeatedly shown blantant disregaurd to the courts well over dozens of times..She finds'em before the system does.. tell the system.. the system says "tag you it" and they just move again.. Nice law..IF THEY WOULD ENFORCE IT..But they don't

What's everyone is MISSING HERE is that ORS WON'T go after deadbeats they KNOW the location of..They WILL NOT persure them accross state lines and all these deadbeats have to do is move two doors down when and IF they are found!... So since no one really careas about this?? Might I suggest that if you owe child support..1 move out of state (just out of reach) and if they find you just move one door down (it will take them YEARS to find you again even when some GIVES them your new address) and if they garnish?..Work under the table and change jobs every time they find you.. chances are it will take at least a year to find you again so you'll hardly ever have to pay anything..and all them single mothers who didn't answer this one?.... Go talk to welfare. they'll give you a generous allotment of FS and a bit of cash.. Enough to afford a roach ranch in the gangland area...enjoy!!

The state has to pay to arrest and transfer that person to the state he broke the law for one.
I would get a good family practice attorney, and try to get the IRS invoved to track and garnish their pay.
Cant dodge the IRS.......
I've even heard of some private firms that do that also.

I think they should castrate deadbeat dads so they can't produce anymore offspring. My sister never got any childsupport for my nephew and the feds wouldnt go after her ex-husband even though they knew where he was. We always thought it was because she worked and didnt qualify for welfare so they didnt care. Apparenty, according to the other people answering this question the states would rather pay welfare than to go pick the deadbeat up. If he had been castrated that maybe he couldnt have produced the 2nd child with a different woman that he doesnt support either.

Although child support enforcement is primarily left up to state enforcement, a non-payment of child support may also become a federal criminal offense under certain conditions. Using the commerce clause as its base of authority, Congress enacted the Child Support Recovery Act of 1992 (CSRA), Pub. L. No. 102-521, making a willful failure to pay a past due support obligation, with respect to a child residing in another state, a federal offense. 18 U.S.C. § 228 The intent of the statute was to prevent non-custodial parents from fleeing across state lines to avoid paying their child support obligations and to facilitate recovery of unpaid child support.

Please note that both fathers and mothers can be deadbeats. Deadbeat parents bring children into the world and then neglect them by not providing for them financially. It would be great fo them to be under federal jurisdiction, thrown into labor camps and forced to work until they catch up on the arrears...with no statute of limitations. Day after day I see tragedies where parents have refuse to care for their children financially. Parents who do not want to take the responsibility for children should not create children.

i might seem at Federal regulation. considering all baby help regulations ought to shop on with undemanding standards that the government has set. i come across it surprising which you end paying help after the 8th baby. that doesn't seem honest to the youngsters, which in ALOT of states there are superb activity of baby regulation. I even have heard of caps that they placed on the amt which you pay in some states say each and each baby is 10 %, which you would be able to in user-friendly terms pay x amt out of your earnings considering you have a real to stay.

here in Australia the Australian Tax Office also managed the child support payments.

It is a requirement for all employees to lodge a tax number with their employer on employment... sooooo it isn't rocket science for the child support payer to be located and his or her wages can be garnesheed from any where in the country
