If you mean historically you would have to agree "Hammerin' Henry Armstrong" was pound for pound the greatest of all time. Those who might receive honorable mention could be Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Hector Camacho, others in the middle ranks. Armstrong held world titles in three different weight classes at the same time! That pretty much cinches it for him. I really don't have an opinion for this modern era. I really don't believe any are out there who could honestly lay claim to the "best pound for Pound."

Without a doubt "Mohammed Ali" was the greatest boxer. This man could dance round his opponents and make them dizzy. He really could float like a Butterfly and, Sting like a bee.

An other great boxer was Benny Lynch. Alcohol was his downfall as he died penniless. He had few friends but a lot were fair weather friends. He is buried in Glasgow where I was born.

lb4lb its hard to make a claim against Sugar Ray Robinson but ill give it a go.

The only boxer i think that hold a candle was Bob Fitzsimmons, he wasn't the flashiest or the most widely recognised but if your talking lb4lb he's hard to beat.

He was a middleweight fighting at the middleweight limit and still won the H/W title by KO! heres a link that will give you some history i found it a very interesting read

I would say Kangaroos. Now the Boxer Dog is a Great Specimen of an Animal, but, I would think a Kangaroo could take him in a Dead Heat!
Oh!!! Darn, silly me, you mean people. As said above; Muhammad Ali was good. AND, he seems to be a Really good man! Sad about his condition, BUT, he still shows he can fight, even in that area.

Sugar Ray Robinson 175-19.......Jack Johnson 79-8......Marvin Hagler 67-3......Rocky Marciano 49-0(43KO's) Undefeated heavyweight champ.

With the different styles, weights, and level of competition it is very hard to figure out who is best of the best.
