As a former marine, I can tell you that you will never regret going into the military. The important thing is to get a job in the military that you enjoy. You may regret getting the wrong job but not being in the military as a whole. If someone else tells you that the military is bad, just realize that the military is the reason they have the right to disagree in the first place.

There is nothing wrong. My husband had to go. I tell you what, he was a changed man when he got out almost 2 years ago. I think that the military is a great thing. If you do what is told and have a good attitude it will a great experience, think of traveling at the governments expense. Yeah with Iraq going on that is tough but really and truly you get a constant pay check, FREE health care, a Free place to live, barracks or housing, A uniform instead of saying what am I going to wear today? Travel to different states and countries, and instant friend everywhere you go! And a dozen of other things too. You feel good about your self, your head is held a bit higher. TO be brutally honest with you I miss being a active duty military wife. The experience was hard yes but I loved it!

Nothing at all. Joining the Marine Corps was the best thing I ever did, even though I decided not to make a career of it. In my opinion, the joining the military is a wise choice to anyone who does not yet know what he or she wants to do career-wise. However, one should should factor in what a difficult and possibly dangerous job the service is. Can you accept this?

Military experience looks good on the resume.
And should you consider politics or Civil service as a career, then militiary experience is a bonus. I do believe the postal service still give credit for time served in the military as time worked.

Nothing. But right now you are signing yourself up for more of a possible death sentence than say, peacetime. Plus, it all depends how you feel about being in Iraq...

Nothing at all. Self improvement is a very personal thing, you know. Me? I'd be freaking MISERABLE in the armed forces.

All the same I'm very grateful we have one. And my thanks goes out to those who serve.
