They aren't doing a very good job of hiding, are they? Every time they start ranting and raving about enforcing the laws of the land, and closing the borders, words like beaner and wet**** start shooting out of their mouths. And this isn't racist ? Oh please...give me a break !

Angie, from reading your previous posts here, I feel that you are a racist, yourself, against white people. You keep bringing up the racist issue, over and over again, even when people tell you that NO, the problem isn't about Mexicans, this problem that we are discussing here in this forum is about illegal immigration and illegal immigrants are all colours from every country in the world - it is YOU who keeps on bringing up the word "Mexicans" and making this a racial issue! Please, can you try to put your own personal issues aside here and realize that the majority of people here are not picking on "Mexicans?" We are saying ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS need to be deported from the USA and if they want to come here, they should apply through the legal, normal procedures to do so and then they will be welcomed with open arms!

Anyways, are you particularly dark-skinned, yourself, and that is the reason you keep on and on and on about this? I only ask this because Mexicans and Central Americans that I have met and known come in all colours and a lot of them are whiter skinned than I am. Seriously, what is your problem??

You are losing support on your pro-illegal side by trying to claim this as racism.

Have you ever been to S. America? theres whites, africans, etc... there. And many South americans are crossing the mexican border.

Claiming racism is a lame attempt to try to win a losing arguement. Usually the people that claim racism on here "hit and run" so to speak. They say "you're racist" then you don't hear of that person for days to actually say why beingg against illegal immigration is racist.

Very few hide behind this issue as racism. If canadians overpopulated and came into this country and threatend our economy then there would be the same people against that.

Whether they are racist or not, why would they hide behind anything. Americans are legal, Mexicans are not. Either you are American or you are Mexican. Running past federal agents, falsifying documents, or stealing identities does not make you an American. Almost everyone is racist to a certain degree. Gotta look at the facts. 3rd world people just don't fit in here without assimilation. Illegals threaten Americas culture. I spent my first 17 years in California, and my last 22 years in Arkansas. It is perfectly clear, the effects of uncontrolled invasion from another culture. Call it prejudice, I call it wanting to keep America, America!

I think there are a very few who do use the immigration issue as a 'shield' to hide their true views.
My take on the immigration issue is this: we need a tighter control on who we allow in the country. That's all. I don't want to hear that we let 15,000 terrorists in the country illegally because we don't have tighter restrictions on who we allow into the country.
I am all for people, wherever they are from, to come here and make a better lives for themselves and their families. I'm opposed to those who come here to calculate and render terrorist attacks in the States.

Oh, I'm absolutely sure some do. On both sides. I've seen as much nastiness against whites (who are not the only anti-illegals on here) as against 'Mexicans'.

Speaking of whites, there was this one guy asking if there were others here who liked to read.... oh, I forget the name but he put in a link and it was a Nazi site.

I was glad to see that there was NOT an outpouring of 'yes I do too, don't you just love it?! We must get together!'

Most people against illegal immigration didn't mind it when there were many fewer illegal immigrants, and it wasn't hurting our own people so much. Those people, including myself, are not racist.

I really don't know. But I can say this, I work with migrant farmworkers and growers in NY. Many of the workers are latino and many happen to be undocumented. Undocumented = Illegal OK, that is a fact. But contrary to beliefs held by some, US workers in general do not want to do farmwork and if the wages were higher (as some say, pay more and Americans will do the work) you would pay $5 for a gallon of milk, $5 for a loaf of bread, etc. The American consumer would go bonkers and WILL NOT pay higher prices for food. I think that this is not a question of race but rather one of economics. In every part of the world there is an influx of illegal labor into countries in the first world, Europe, Asia and in our Hemisphere, it is a fact. When folks need to work to eat, they go to places where there jobs exist.

I believe that people on both sides of the issue hide behind the immigration issue because they are racist. Those that are considered to be 'white' are not the only people that are racist - every race has such within.

Absolutely....no question....

Others just want to keep the country the way it is, and believe that with illegals it will lower our quality of life. The Spanish thing is a big issue for many people. I agree, if Mexicans would learn English it would open up so many more doors for them.

But most certainly for the pinheads here, its definitely about racism and its pretty disgusting...

You are trying to make it about race, and the others just want to say they are against illegal immigration from any where. like me and my family my sister married a Mexican, and my niece is part Mexican, and they don't want the illegals here either, and I don't want the other 800 thousand illegals from other countries here either. If people were just against Mexicans they wouldn't want the legal ones here either, and most don't care if they come legal, and I don't care either if their legal. But I don't no why i even wrote this you don't believe anybody anyway.
