For the same amount of activity you burn more calories when it's colder. It takes more energy to keep the body temperature up. You may appear to lose weight more on hot days, but that is perspiration loss, not calorie usage.

Well, you do lose weight for 2 reasons 1) because you lose water from sweating 2) usually people eat less or lighter during summertime, but hot temperature won't make you "burn calories"

Depends...shivering burns calories, too! Sweating just gets rid of water, which you will put back on anyway, btw. I think you would have to work out strenously in pretty serious temp extremes for either hot or cold to make much of a difference.

Not really. It happens for some people, and not the others. Usually exercising sweat helps you burn calories, not sweat from heat.

Yeah, because it is more difficult to workout in hotter temperature, and your body has to work harder to keep itself cool.
