You are probably not betting aggressively enough to scare out people who are drawing to hands. If you're playing limit, you're probably out of luck, but if its no limit, you need to bet more aggressively to weaken the drawer's pot odds.
If they're still calling after that, you can still have the piece of mind that you are getting your money in with the best hand and that they're playing bad. It stinks at the time but the more bad beats that you have, the better you are usually playing.

Because someone was waiting for the river to make their hand. You need to push a little bit harder on the flop and turn. Make people pay to play, especially if you have a good hand. Chances are the ones who are on a draw will fold if you put them in a position to lose a lot of chips.

You have to look at what you are betting on the flop and on the turn. You could still have the best hand on the flop and still be an Underdog with 2 cards remaining. Someone could have a huge draw on you, which is pretty common in hold em.
Analyze which draws your opponent had. Analyze your opponents, and analyze who bets their draws.
Also, you have to bet your draws, as well as play them if the pot is offering you enough money to call.

it may seem like you do, because when you feel you have a made hand at the poker table..you commit more chips to the pot, and when you lose this pot because the oponent catches a lucky break..it takes more of a pound on you..than if you would have commited little amount of chips, because now you've been astonished by your opponents luck, and you are in the red zone for chips, and all you can do is sit pissed off..catch my drift?-------my rule of thumb is always..dont go broke on top pair..theres plenty other ppl can have

Cuz you don't play enough. Get more hands in and forget about the bad beats. The big wins are the ones you remember, so bet big when the odds are with you just as much as when you're just calling a small fry to take him out.

As some other posters have mentioned. Keep in mind that with the right raise in no limit you can create adverse pot odds so your opponent is making a mathematical mistake in calling you. If you keep doing this you can drive people out of draws or push them into making mistakes against you, which is really what you want to do.

you may have stayed in with a bad hand hoping to catch a good card and you haven't taken into account what your opponent might be holding. Plus if you dont bet high on the flop you give other players a chance to catch cards they need!

I hate when that happens. Make sure you're betting enough because another player might call if it doesn't cost much to. But don't bet too much. Someone else might have a flush or full house and is just baiting you.

Don't let it get that far. Get more agressive with your betting and make people think they've already lost.

You either don't get the cards to win or more likely you don't know how to play.
