It is easy to see that there is big money in religion, huge churches, large tracts of land, wealthy ministers, many small churches that are semi-private and not-for-profit but very profitable, able to generate millions to advance political campaigns to further the interests of religion. One might think that money drives the religion machine.
It is interesting to look at the service that churches and ministers provide. Some do a fairly good job comforting members of the congregation, some afford a social life similar to early tribal societies, many identify the "in group" and those not the chosen few, some promote the pursuit of the seven deadly sins by manipulating concepts to make it OK.
It's not JUST about the money but money is a VERY big part of most organized religions.
Few Christian churches rely on ministers who have REAL day jobs then minister to the congregation as an unpaid service to God's children. It has become a big business that should probably be taxed the same way movies or stage productions are taxed.
It is amusing that some say you feel that religion is all about money BECAUSE you WANT to believe that. It is also accurate to say that those who do not believe that, do so for the same reason. Both may believe what they do because they believe that the evidence for their favored position is subatantially more compelling but we also choose to look for evidence in our own peculiar locations.

Dogma, aka organized religions, originally were bred of human concepts & interpretations of writings left by others revealing their concepts & interps of their times & ways to more peaceful/loving lifestyles...however, just like anything run by a monarchies of sorts, the power begets greed, and need (for more control)...and gets away from original intent & truths.

That's far too over simplistic. Sure religion can be used as such, but it is laughable to think that was the SOLE motivation behind the foundation of the world's religions.

No. My dad preaches at a church of about 8 people, max. He barely gets a tidbit of money to help with the bills. Most of his money comes from his retirement and different trading deals.

It's certainly about power whether pro or con. It's about the power of the infallible over the individual if you're religious and it's about the power of the church over the individual if you're atheist.

It's about mind control. The more money the more ability you have to control peoples thoughts. Just ask Pat Robertson.

No...Religion is about knowing God...It is about justice, mercy, & walking humbly with God...It's about grace, forgiveness, & love...& so much more...
Too bad some folks actually do use it for money & power....
