I think a lot of people do not vote and by doing so they are not giving a better person a chance to win an election that deserves to be a PRESINDENT OF UNITED STATES!!!

We didn't have any good alternatives for sure.
The candidates would improve greatly if people would study what a President actually does instead of listening to the news all the time. If people got more involved in the real issues and did their homework, the quality of all the people in office in all places would slowly but surely improve.

A better president will only be elected when only the rational, intelligent, and productive people vote. It is not quantity that we need, but quality. Voting should be a privilege that you earn, not a right granted just by the fact that you can take a breath.

There are two problems.

The first is defining what's a good president (good for whom?)

The second is that even if you manage to define 'good' (good for "most people"), there is absolutely no guarantee that if more people vote they'll vote for the 'better' candidate. The only guarantee is that as more people vote, the more popular candidate is more likely to be chosen.

Unfortunately, popular doesn't always mean good.

More people would probably vote if they had more and better choices than what we are given. Changing how the government really works will change how the leaders are chosen.

The problem is not in the lack of voting but in the party system. The extremists in both parties have two much control. We need politicians who are willing to represent their beliefs, not those of the extremists. We need a strong centrist party, fiscally conservative while recognizing the morality of humanity.
