Do any immigrants really pay taxes?

Why are we opposed to illegal mexican immigrants not paying taxes when none of the legal immigrants in this country don't pay them either, why do you think they own so many businesses,

For instance when I use to work for toys r us as a cashier,the citizens that weren't born here could go to the customers service desk and get the taxes back on the items they had just purchased, even when they buy homes and cars they are still charged no taxes. So shouldn't we complain about all of them not paying taxes

Most illegals work with false ID they pay tax but can not file for a refund.

Most corporations get a free pass on taxes. They can make millions and not pay a cent.

I think we are opposed to teaching children and paying taxpayer money on Mexicans that are not citizens within our country. Also, many Mexicans are on welfare and this upsets many taxpaying Americans. This is a generalization. I have many ESL students whose parents do pay taxes. They miss being in Mexico and are sometimes disruptive, but their parents want them to have better lives. When I let their parents know how they are behaving, the next day they come back with apologies and sometimes even gifts because their parents are very appreciative of the life they have in America in comparison to Mexico.

My parents were good friends with some very elite people in Mexico and they would see me by the pool when I was a girl and were appalled at my dress (bikini) and that I was tanning (dark is not good). Their friends knew I was young and accepted that I didn't know the way of the world. But, I learned quickly at the prejudices and spoiled attitude of the rich Mexicans (light skinned European descent) versus the dark Mexicans (mestizos)

I haven't heard of a lot of that going on except during tax free days. I wouldn't think that if they purchased a home they would get it tax free, but, they get everything else for free why not that too.
I would have to say that Immigrants that are here LEGALLY probably pay taxes. However, the ones I worry about are the Millions who are here ILLEGALLY, sucking us dry of resources that were meant for AMERICAN citizens.

I love how so many people insist on speaking out of ignorance. I am illegal, when my pay check comes I get deductions for health care, social security, an God knows what else. The only difference is that I don't get any of the benefits. I don't have health care and I'm certainly not ever going to cash that social security. The only law I am breaking is stepping foot illegally. I pay my bills, I pay for my health care, I pay out of my pocket for my education. We don't pay taxes w/ a fake social or someone Else's! We have a W-7 number. People insist on calling us criminals and that we take advantage of the free education and free this an that. So do people really believe that only ILLEGALS do this? So, some illegals have committed crimes, haven't people of other races of other legal statuses committed crimes as well? We do not the demand anything as many people think. We are simply human beings that deserve to be treated with respect and be rewarded for our hard work. I work day in and day out and earn an honest and modest living. For those who say its immoral, is it immoral to be hungry or to want a better life? Like Rafael said SI SE PUEDE. WE ARE NOT INVADERS. Thanks for trying to open some eyes Josh.

Immigrants in this country legally, or those working on a visa do pay taxes. People here illegally or who are paid "under the table" don't pay taxes.

Sales tax aren't due if you don't live here. If you do live here, citizen or not, they are due.

However, no one is talking about sales tax, they are talking about income tax and property tax that supports schools and health services. Even if they do pay taxes, it won't cover how much they cost though. We subsidize education and services in this country for poor people. That is why we limit how many can come.

It is expensive to pay for all those services for other people. That is why Mexico doesn't do it.

Majority of them do, even when they work for cash, they still try to declare and pay taxes to be in compliance (at least at this point). Also, they pay taxes even when they use stolen SS number. But, we are only talking here about the ones that have jobs where they need a SS number: many places (companies) would hire them without one. Imagine, my friend does not have one and he works for UPS, being in the union too. In Wisconsin!

I've never heard about people being able to get sales tax back. As far as I know, everyone pays sales tax. That's why we should move to the Fair Tax. Everyone would pay a national sales tax, regardless of legal status.

Depends in the UK, once illegals are found, we buy them a house, widescreen TV, benefits, get them a job and pay their taxes.

If they are legal they have to struggle to find a job and pay taxes, I THINK they get benefits and the NHS not sure though. Though muslims normally get a house at the least even if they are legal. Part of the plan to build bridges etc

even if you don't have a SS#, of course you still have to pay...this country doesn't let legal people get away from taxes---are you kidding me?!

Even if you don't have a SS#, every legal immigrant is assigned a Tax Identification (TIN#)...which can be substituted for the SS# on many employment forms.
