Some refer to it as predestination. In other words, do you believe that God in His soverignty elects some to Heaven and some to Hell?

There is debate over this among those of The Christian Faith. It is not an issue that will affect the Salvation of a believer so it is a debateable issue. I am of the position that any argument that would claim to limit God's power is the wrong side of the issue.
thus, I will accept it as within God's power... If He chooses to exercize that power...

Depends on your understanding of this doctrine. Incorrectly understood I do not believe in it.

Eternal security is just that.

THE PROBLEM,

is our understanding of Eternal security.

So the question arises:

Are we UN-conditionally secure, or are we conditionally secure.

The first believe that we can never be lost no matter what and the second group believe that we can sin and loose our salvation.

Here is where the doctrine of Election hits a snag.

If some are chosen to go up and others to go down, then how do you explain Eternal security and Jesus saying to all,

Come unto me

ALL YE WHO ARE

heavy laden

AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.

Jesus did not say some of you my Father chooses to,

BUT,

All.

Yes, that's what the Bible states through and through ... from Jacob & Esau in the OT, to Paul's statements in Romans 9.

Jesus Himself said that many are called but few are chosen. He didn't say, many are called but few choose Him. There is a general call, but only those whom He has chosen will respond.

This is so that we have no reason for boasting, except in His great grace. If it were simply a matter of us seeing our need for salvation, while others do not, then our faith would be some kind of meritorious work ... somehow earning our salvation. But Ephesians 2:8-9 says that even our faith is a gift from God.

No. God gives us all free will and its how we choose to live our life whether our eternity will be hell or heaven. If God preselected folks then Christ would not have needed to die to conquer death for humanity and forgiveness would be a mute point.

God's mercy endures forever and he allows us to change and repent when we fall so we can get up and keep loving him. Even St. Paul, who killed Christians, repented after meeting Christ. If Paul can change after what he did and Peter too after denying Christ three times can change, then there's hope for all of us.

yes I do believe in election. That God choses the people, Also "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord and professes in His heart the Jesus is Lord will be saved." Its the ones who reject the free gift of salvation who are doomed.

A lot of people harden their hearts, therefore Christ does not find room in their hearts.

not every Christian believes that. I don't.
I believe we are all in charge of our own destinies. if we weren't, why would the Bible say, let each man work out his own salvation?
