I have had both and they are both very sweet. I prefer the Yorkie because he is so much easier to handle, eats less and has a much longer life expectancy. Being a petite person I was overwhelmed by the Great Dane and her strength. She was sooo large she once was lying under our patio table and when she got up, she took the table with her on her back!

Great Dane by far. For one thing, I love big dogs, I like the dogs that can keep up with me and run and play with me. Also, yorkies tend to be a lot more yippy and bark more than a great dane. I am also a bit of a klutz, and would probably step on and injure the yorkie.

I love both, I just have one dog a West Highland WHite Terrier but if I could give her a big dog companion I'd love to get a great dane. I love terriers there so much fun! And great danes are so loving and gentle.

A yorkie! They're cuter and can cuddle better than a great dane....plus they eat a lot less.

yorkies all the way. You get the best of both. Yorkies think they are big dogs anyway and they are the smartest and fanciest breed, in my opion..... And they live longer than danes..

I would go with the great dane because they're large breeds and I prefer large breeds that can protect me and my family. And they're also great companions.

yorkies all the way-- there so cute-- i have one if u couldn't tell--i personally like him b-c i can have him on my lap( cant really do that with a great dane ) he is really playful too.

i love great danes..bu i dont think i could ever get one because of the short life expectancy :-/
