It's nuzzling, as far as I know there are two main reasons for this, the first to get attention and the second being that cats have scent glands on their heads so it is an affectionate marking of you - not in a bad way like a tom cat would mark the surrounding areas by spraying of course, but a good cat way of saying 'You're mine, I love you, you're my family *puuuurrrrr*'.

Very 'sweet' now, but when little kitty is a drooling 12 year old with no bladder control and breath like a sewerage pipe, you will not appreciate the face thing!

It's lovely isn't it?! He's showing his affection for you. He loves ya babe! Cats are great aren't they? One of mine comes to bed every night, lays on my pillow with his cheek resting on mine and puts his paws around me. He's sooooo cute! They have unconditional love and I'm so glad to see you're so interested in him. Also it's sometimes "cupboard love". If I lay in (very rare!) I get hassled by him and he nudges his face into mine, taps me round the head (I'm not joking!) and generally tries to wake me up for breakfast. (My cat not my husband). Check he's not hungry or thirsty (I feed mine 2-3 times a day and always provide fresh water). Any more questions?!

It depends on how old he is! If hes still a little cat it means he loves you and is showing that! AWWW!! i totally envy you!! my second kitted just purred, but my first would suckel on our shirts and leave little wet spots!!! Anyways, if it bothers you (and i don't see why) gently move him aside but just live with it!!!its soooo cute and most likely he will grow out of it so treasure it while you can!

The cat is simply being affectionate ! But he also marking you up for future attention by leaving its scent on you from the pores around its whiskers. Think of it as a feline snog ..........

I just read an answer that said he will grow out of it .... absolute rubbish .... mine is 10-year-old male, at this moment he is sitting next to my keyboard and stretching his head forward for a nuzzle. It's a greeting, an exchange of scent, it will go on for as long as you want it to.

well i have had my cat for 13 years and he still does that. It's because cats try and put their scent on you. And behind the cats ears is where it comes from..so this is why cats rub their heads and ears on things. Including their owners to let other cats know your TAKEN!!

its the way all cats show affection. cats will try and scent other cats with oils on the less hairy bits of their head, just so that the next time it meets the cat it will sniff for that scent and remember.

Head-butts (which is what that sounds like) are a form of feline affection. When I got my adult cat at the pound, he was doing it like crazy when I first met him. That's one of the ways I knew we would get along well.

He likes you! Cats have scent glands on the sides of their faces. When they like something and want to claim it, they rub or bump their face against it.
