White Castle is a restaurant chain which is basically located in the Midwest with more than 390 restaurants, but they are springing up in other places. Keep in mind - most restaurants open in cities and states where they believe the competition will be either on equal playing field or that they can succeed. It's a business - they are in it to make money. Additionally, these are franchise operations, which means, if Joe Blow has the 100k to open up one, he can with the help of their coporate operations. A good businessman will check out the city to see if there is hope for his business to survive in that place. Many cities that have competitive type restaurants selling the same kind of product might not want to open in that city. Krystal's, for example is the excelling restaurant in our city - they promote the same type of meals, but we do have a White Castle - (and not many) and the only reason it is successful, is because they offer Church's chicken as well.
