Yes I do think there is harm. I remember when my ex and I used to talk. He would always try to 'hook up'. But he used to always tell me that you can't be 'friends' with guys, especially ex's. Now I know that it's true. I have learned my lesson. I'm not saying he is cheating, but just don't be nieve about the situation. There may be more. Plus, why does he even have to talk to her?

As long as you trust him and gives you no reason not to you should be fine. My boyfriend calls his ex, but they have a daughter together...He doesn't even like her because she cheated on him and left him when he was locked up.

As long as they don't restart their relationship, and you trust him on this, then it should be alright. An ex can still be a best friend, even if they aren't romantically involved.
