Remember:

The Wedding is a day, the marriage is a lifetime. If you truly love each other, you do not need a fairy tale wedding.

Live slightly below your means, and be flexible enough to adapt to each others quirks and habits. Understand that you have to change a lot, there are now two different sets of family traditions for holidays, birthdays and vacations.

If each of you puts the other first, you will have a happy life together. The words "if you love me you will............." should be stricken from your vocabulary.

The fact that you each do not share every interest is not a sign of failure in your marriage. It is quite alright for one partner to like something (sports, TV show, gardening, or anything else) and the other partner not.

Allow each other space to have friends. You do not always have to be together in a social situation. Men and women need to interact with their own gender. Men need to be able to let loose and not have to worry about offending the women. Women also need to be able to do whatever it is they do (as a guy, I have no idea, and will never know).

Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Well is depends on how long you want to be engaged before getting married. Plan it out and make sure it is what you want and not what other people want. ( flowers, colors, etc...) make sure your fiance is involed in making the plans even if he says he doesnt care he will wish he had helped later. the best thing i can tell you is get as much help as possible (very stressful) and dont expect everything to be perfect..things will go wrong even if they are small things just look at them and laugh dont let it get to you on that day because then it will only get worse..just enjoy the day and dont worry....remember it is just one more day you are with the one you love...The only thing that matters no matter what goes wrong is that you to love each other and are vowing to sepnd the rest of your lives together...

Make sure that you really love this person, this doesn't mean that you love all those little pet peev things, but are you willing to accept him for the man that he is. And remember you are making a commitment to love him no matter what until the day that he dies. But the main thing is don't change the min. you get married, continue to try and look good for him, show him you love him. And make sure that you two talk and make time for eachother. Even after children. Marriage takes work if you want it to work, just like when you are dating.
