I ran my kids around in a CJ for years, top up, top down, bimini top, and no top at all. They loved it. However, I NEVER did any serious offroading with kids, or anyone else, in the backseat. Just running around on road? No prob. Especially with a newer Wrangler with the full rollbar.

At Camp Jeep a few years back, we were riding on a rugged off-road course. The wrangler in front of ours had a family of four in it, the top off enjoying the ride. While going up a steep embankment he snapped his front drive shaft. The Jeep reared up and flipped backwards and rolled back down the hill landing upside down. The family (including two boys about age 6 or so) unfastened their seatbelts and crawled out totally unharmed. We all rolled the Jeep back over, he started it up and finished the course (he had to winch up the steep hill without 4 wheel drive).

Yes, he rounded off his fenders and broke his windshield but mechanically the Jeep was fine and his family was fine. Had he been in a 4 wheel drive SUV without a roll cage, it is quite possible they would have been crushed.

A Jeep has no different safety requirements for a child seat, than any other vehicle.

if they're strapped down ya...those roll bars are solid man. i've had a jeep for over 12 years and i do a lot of off roading. that vehicle is just tough as shiiit man. and if you have a kid in the car...don't drive recklessly

I wouldn't trust jeeps with children. Especially if there able to get out of their seats. Very dangerous.

Yes just like i told ya on your last question. lol They will be fine as long as they are belted in. The best way to ensure the maximum saftey would be to ride with a a hard top and a halo roll cage. The halo roll cage is aftermarket but will portect you 100%

I guess that would depend on how you drive! I am sure it is just as safe as other vehicles.
