OVEN BARBECUED SPARE RIBS
3 to 4 lbs. Country Style Ribs
black pepper (season to taste)
garlic powder (season to taste)
1 lemon (sliced)
1 large onion (sliced)
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 dashes Tabasco Sauce
2 cups water
Place ribs in a large shallow roasting pan, meaty side up. (mine measures 14 x 10 1/2) Season meat with pepper and garlic powder. On each piece place a slice of unpeeled lemon, a slice of onion. Roast in a very hot oven (450 degrees) for 30 minutes.
Drain grease from meat pan. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil and pour over ribs. Continue baking in moderate oven
(350 degrees) until tender, about 45 minutes to an hour. Baste ribs with sauce every 15 minutes. If sauce gets thick, add more water.

I usually marinate my ribs the night before with Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. Then I just like to season with salt and pepper, cook for about 45 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Flip when needed. Then after the 45 minutes, I take them out the oven and pour some Jack Daniels BBQ sauce (or anything with honey in it) all over the ribs and place back in the oven for another 20 minutes (I usually turn the oven up to 400 after I put the sauce on them). They usually fall right off the bone.

The best way to make spare ribs is using a slow cooker. I recommend Better Homes and Garden. http://www.bhg.com. Most of my slow cooker recipes come from this website.
If you like soup with spare ribs, try using papaya or wintermelons (Honeydrew melon tastes the best). Cook ribs in medium high heat for 30 minutes. Then pour the cubed (around 2 inches) of papaya or wintermelons and cook for 2 hours under low heat. Add salt just before serving. (My favorite recipes for spare ribs.)
My 2nd favorite spare ribs is for baking or stewing using Chinese stewing pot. For my sauce, I use:
apple (fresh or apple juice)
Kiwi
Soy Sauce
Teriyaki Sauce
Wine
Sesame Oil
Sesame Seeds
Cooking Oil
Let marinade at least 3 hours overnight (overnight taste better). Save the sauce for stewing, brushing on grilling or baking, or Dipping Sauce.

boil ribs until the meat startspulling away from the bone, usually about 1/2hr.preheat oven to 350, place boiled ribs in a shallow baking pan or dish preferably one with a rack in it.season with soy sauce ,garlic and onion powder then brush on kc. or krafts barbque sauce and bake for about 45min. to an hour covered with foil for the first 1/2 hr. you may also make your own sauce by mixing a 1/2 cup of ketchup,2 onces of soy sauce,a teaspoon of mustard, a dash of worchestershire or a-1 sauce, a spoon and a half of sugar, add some pepper and garlic powder and mix well, if you want it hotter you may add some hot sauce or spicy salsa .

Put them in a turkey roaster with lots of water and bake covered slowly 200 degrees about three hours until the meat is as tender as you like. Then drain and cover with BBQ sauce. This is strictly personal taste. I like dark and sweet. I wipe the sauce on with a BBQ brush and turn the heat up to 375 degrees and cook about twenty minutes until it gets just a little carmelized. Yum.
